WHAT IS THE WORLD HERITAGE?
It is the legacy of monuments and sites of universal value from the past, live in the present and transmition to future generations.
That legacy belongs to the world, regardless of the territory in which we live.
UNESCO promotes the identification and preservation of this through an international agreement called the Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
The Convention defines the criteria and types of sites that can be inscribed on the World Heritage List, and sets the duty of states in the incorporation of potential sites and their protection and preservation.
Mexico signed the Convention in 1984 and forced to work for the care of heritage in its territory, to the maximum of their resources and capabilities.
